Well, our psychopathic felon-in-charge continues to cut a bloody swath through the foundations of democracy with his every breath. I'm simply posting this to share my frustration with today, which is much similar to my frustration yesterday, and to urge folks to speak out and (yes, I know it can be depressing and scary, but we must) keep up at least in a news-grazing way with developments. So far, our courts are doing some good, but it's not necessarily going to be enough.
Conspiracy theories? It's beyond that. You cannot make up what we are seeing every day. For example, the orange monster has ordered over 280 million acres of National Parks land logged for lumber. I gather that's a swath of forests roughly comparable to three times the total area of the state of California. I want to share a post from Instagram if I can find it.

In the latest move the undercutting the Park Service, the Trump administration plans to terminate NPS leases and shutter 34 offices across the country that function as visitor centers, law enforcement offices, museums and hubs for critical park services. These reckless lease cancellations will likely result in permanently closed visitor centers, millions of artifacts without climate-controlled homes, and critical facilty resources housing emergency, search and rescue and law enforcement gone. We have a developing list of the leases the Park Service has been asked to cancel in the coming weeks linked in our bio.
Over the past few weeks, we've watched the Trump administration dramatically terminate staff, threaten to drill on long-protected national monuments, alter historical information, and create obstacles for park staff to preserve our nation's greatest treasures and welcome visitors.

“For over a century, Americans have loved and fought to protect our national parks. This administration’s actions are a betrayal of that legacy. The American people expect leaders to protect our parks, not dismantle them.”
NPCA is calling on the Trump administration to stop these reckless lease cancellations before they inflict even more damage on America’s national parks.
